I want to write a simple utility, so that if I select a text, and press a hot
key
say (CTRL+ALT+G), then I should be able to open a google search page with
the selected text. Could someone tell me how to get the selected text when
this hotkey is pressed.

Does anyone know how to get selected text outside the .NET application?
For instance:
1) In Internet Explorer, MS Excel or any other, I select some text
2) I perform a mouse click holding a key down
3) My .NET application gets the selected text that was under the mouse
cursor when the click was performed.

I have a textarea and some buttons. The buttons apply functions to
the text the user selects, i.e. the good old "wrap with a tag"
thing we all have seen in 100 different editors.
Trouble is, when I click the button, the selected text gets
unselected. Select some text in the textbox and click -anywhere-
and the text unselects.
I want that text to stay selected!

I have an aspx file where i've put a placeholder element. On load
(page_load) i create dynamically an html table which contains a checkbox and
a radiobuttonlist in each tablerow . The radiobuttonlist contains two items
(yes,no). Both the
checkboxes and the radiobuttonlist are NOT autopostbacked ( .autopostback =
false). When i press the submit button a sub (submit_pressed) is run. My
problem is that i can not get the selected items...

Hi ,
Visual Studio 2003, VB.NEt
my VB.Net solution has 10 project files, 1exe and 10 dlls in it and when i
load up the solutions it takes for ever to load up and is pretty slow. Is
there any way (like in VB6) that i could have multile solution files having
combination of different project files and when i load up those solutions
only the selected projects loads up in source code and the others in dlls and
i shuld still be able to run...

I need a bit of direction...
I am in need (as the title suggests) of a way to get the selected text from any application. Of course, I understand I will need to get the application's handle, but that's no problem. I'm just not sure how I would go about getting the text after that. Is there an API that would help? This should work for all selected text in nearly all applications (Word, Works, Excel, IE, etc.).

I have no problems with setting up system wide hotkeys and with
copying selected text if it was not an external application but could
