Hi All,
I was wondering if it was possible in vb.net to select text from an
external application such as IE, then press a hotkey which would copy
the contents to clipboard?
I have no problems with setting up system wide hotkeys and with
copying selected text if it was not an external application but could
not find any info on how I might do the above.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

I'm also curious how this might be possible, trying to copy a selected
line of text from a browser to copy into clipboard so I can search
through the string for particular text. Problem is trying to get the
selected text into clipboard. This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

I am working on a Swing application (Java 1.4 ) and I am having
trouble implementing the following functionality:
A JTextField that should not be part of focus traversal (should
not be tabbed to), but the text can be selected and copied (Ctrl-C).
This is a requirement across the whole application, which is
hundreds of panels, so 'hard-coding' the tab order is not an option.
TIA,
John

I am using Visual Basic 2003 and I have written a notepad like application
using the RichTextBox control. I am having trouble trying to emulate
Microsoft Words text block copy/paste feature. In MS Word you would Hold
Alt
while clicking and dragging the mouse. A block of text would then be
selected
and you can then copy and paste what you have selected. Has anybody done
this?
What I am trying to do is copy multiple columns across...

I am wondering if there is anyway, I could detect if some text gets
selected by the user in an external application. To give you an example,

I'm trying to code cut, copy, and paste in vb 2005 so that when the user
clicks on a toolbar button, the cut/copy/paste will work with whatever
textbox the cursor is current located in (I have about 20 textboxes on the
form). Also to ensure that the button can't get used if the cursor isn't in
a textbox field. And to ensure the contents of the clipboard are "text"
contents that have been cut/copied from one of the textboxes on the form.

I'm programming an application in MS Access 2003 / 2007 and would like to know how I can copy highlighted text to the windows clipboard?
I am now using a statement in combination with module "Call ClipBoard_SetData(Memo)" but this copies the whole 'memo' field.
I want to highlight text in the memo field and copy only that text to the clipboard.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
