ASP.NET version question

Sorry folks but this is going to seem like a really silly question i'm sure
but here goes.

Do the different versions of Visual Studio use different versions of ASP.NET.
E.g -
Does Visual Studio .Net - ASP.NET 1.0
Does Visual Studio .Net 2003 - ASP.NET 1.1
Does Visual Studio .Net 2005 - ASP.NET 2.0

Cheers

There is no such thing as a silly question, the answer is yes.

Yes

NOTE: Do not try to work with a framework mismatched to the VS version
either, as it will not work. You can, in theory, tweak the registry to do
this, but the results are less than stellar.

Hiya folks, I'm getting the following error(s) below and I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to correct it. When I give it a parameter it then complains it needs two parameters and the second one being an integer or something like that. Warning: domdocument() expects at least 1 parameter, 0 given in orders.php on line 157

I am using the FileVersionInfo class and want to know which is most commonly accepted: the File version or the Product version? When I use the UI to look at \\myServer\Program Files\Common Files\System\ado\msado15.dll I get 2.70.9001.0 for both the File and Product versions. When I look at some Custom and Third Party COM I get mixed results: 1.01.0001 for Product, 1.1.0.1 for File version.

Hi, Is there a programmatic way to get the "general" or "overall" version of a currently running instance of the Visual Studio .NET compiler? What I mean by "general" or "overall" version is, I want to programmatically get the version string that I see in the registry underneath the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio key, such as "7.0" or "7.1" (for .NET 2002 or .NET 2003, respectively). My registry contains both 7.0 and 7.1 keys,...

I have two question regarding the version resource that is generated for a satellite assembly. 1) I have a file in my C# console app project called StringResources.en-US.resx. When I build the project, a satellite assembly is built and placed in the appropriate subfolder (en-US). The satellite assembly has a version #, however, none of the other version information that is part of the main app (set in AssemblyInfo.cs) is passed into...

I'm a newbie experimenting with Python. I want to incrementally develop a module called 'circle'. The problem is now that the file name is used for two purposes. To keep track of the version number and as the name for the module. So when I develop the first version of my file I have to call it circle_a.py. The name of the module then automatically becomes circle_a. But when I develop the next increment and call my file circle_b.py the...

I am trying to figure out how to use Subversion, but this question isn't really Subversion-specific. Any version control system will suffer from the same problem, IMO. I've crossposted to those groups I've deemed most relevant WRT web development. (Well, relevant to *me*). I don't think this question will be completely relevant in a C/C++ or other local devlopment environment. Maybe it is...

I have been looking for a more powerful version of GetType(string) that will find the Type no matter what, and will work even if only supplied "{TypeName}", not the full "{TypeName},{AssemblyName}" As far as I know yet -- hence this question -- there is no 'one solution fits all', but instead there are several parts that have to be put together to check. What I have so far is, and would like as much feedback as possible to ensure I've...

Yesterday I was told that GetType(string) should not just be with a Type, but be Type, AssemblyName. Fair enough, get the reason. (Finally!). As long as it doesn't cause tech support problems down the line... What happens when my code is run on a station that only has framework 3.0 or 4.0, and this assembly, with version number defined for 2.0.0.0 , isn't available. ...breaks? Second question: Does an assembly's PublicKeyToken change...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
