IIS6 server error BC31019 trying to run first page of ASP.Net application

Hi -

I posted this message in the microsoft.publi c.inetserver.ii s group, as well.
I hope someone can help. My client is frantic.

Platform: Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition, latest MDAC 2.8

Trying to run this ASP.NET app. It has worked before. No code has changed so
I'm convinced the problem is with some server settings.

When I go to the app via Internet Explorer I get this:

SERVER ERROR IN '/' APPLICATION in red.

Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required
to service this request....

I have given the following accounts on the 'C:\WINDOWS\Mic rosoft.NET\' (and
all folders below it) full control:
- Administrators (group)
- ASP.NET Machine Account
- IIS_WPG
- IUSR_machinenam e
- IWAM_machinenam e
- Network
- Network Service
- System
- Windows Media Services Guest Account

I've also made sure server extensions has ASP.Net enabled.

Any ideas? (and yes, I've searched google all day with no solution)

Thanks,
Scott

Im trying to find why my hosted server won't maintain session state. Its not a web farm (not load balanced), its all the same server An application requires a session to be set and then recalled (like you do :) However, since the server software was upgraded from IIS 5 to 6, the working code no longer works. (ie - login with session variables but get logged out immediately the page changes)

I have an asp application running on both iis5 and iis6. (not .net) The server ruhnning IIS5 has no problem running my application. IIS6 randomly times out WEB users. The session timeout is set for 60 minutes. I will get timed out in iis6 in less than 5 minutes. Are there any other settings that can be changed to stop this from happening

Greets, Part of the content of one of our web pages uses wingdings and Chr(239) through Chr(242) (which are little arrow outlines, though that's not really important.) It worked just fine in Windows 2000 Server, but now under Server 2003 it seems that characters above 127 get converted somehow, and our code no longer produces the desired effect.

Hi all, somehow I'm going nuts with this authentications inside IIS6, but from the beginning: We have a W2k3 Server running IIS6 with an application running as NetworkService. The Authenticationmode on this Web is integrated Microsoft. Up to now, everything worked fine, but we want to add a new function, which is getting me into problems.

Our webhost (www.usbusinessweb.net) had a W2K IIS5 server crash after a scheduled hard-boot occurred during a ms-security patch install overnight. They couldn't get the server working again so they transferred our site www.orbisoft.com to a new W2003 IIS6 server they set up. That was a week ago. Since that transfer, all of our ASPX pages that use Access2000 databases have stopped working.

I have this ASP application that delivers binary files (by calling C++ COM object) to a C++ client application. On the server side I read from a file and write it using Response.BinaryWrite function. On the client side I read using the MFC CHttpFile::Read() function. This code has been working for 5 years on Win2000/IIS5. Recently we moved the ASP application as is into Windows 2003/IIS6. Since then we are seeing that some large size...

The WebService and the asp are on the same IIS server , which is IIS6.0. On first calling the WebService the asp page either hangs or returns Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113' Script timed out /adminw/logon/DeleteUser.asp

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
