Hi all,
Ok - at work (NHS) we currently send out emails to everyone in the Trust
(approx 2500 people) whenever there's something to say, perhaps a D&V update
to let people know which wards are closed or remain closed etc...we've
finally managed to get the people in power to see sense and rather than spam
everyone we are going to operate a subscription based application for
various subjects.
Each subject will have an administrator who...

Hi All.
I have a document loaded into browser. Later, I am loading some HTML
content (using hidden frame) and replace some part of my document with
new content, using innerHTML property.
The question is - how can I get notified when my document is changed ?
Regards,
Nick

Hi,
I have a DateTime picker control on a form. The datetime
picker control is data bound to a column in a DataTable.
Yes I know about bound DateTime pickers and DBNull and
etc. so no troubles with that stuff...
However, as somebody out there probably knows,
programmatically setting the DateTimePicker.Value property
to a new VALUE does NOT in itself constitute a CHANGE to

I have a separate thread that handles data transfer operations (with a mobile
device). I've set things up so that a small notification form is displayed
in the lower right corner of the window. This all works fine.
But what I can't figure out how to do is to get it to display on top of my
main form, if the main form is maximized. I've tried all of the following:
statusForm = new frmNotify();
statusForm.Show(); // Display...

Hi,
I need to know when a property has ben modified (IsDirty).
The most obvious way to solve the problem is perhaps something like the
following;
Private m_sFirstName As String
Private m_bFirstName_changed As Boolean = False
Public Property FirstName() As String
Get
Return m_sFirstName

I want to receive a notification (via an event), whenever a property is
modified.
Of course, this would be possible if i write code such as the following to
EACH "set" part of each property:
if(Modified != null) Modified(this, EventArgs.Empty); //Modified is an event
Yet, this is annoying. How could I avoid this code duplication? Do
attributes help here somehow?

Suppose:
A TextBox is bound to a BindingSource, which is bound to a DataTable
A BindingNavigator is used to alter the current row being looked at by
the BindingSource
(i.e. Nav's NEXT button is pressed. BS.Position changes from 2 to 3,
Textbox was showing APPLE, now shows ORANGE)
Does the textbox receive any notification that this occurred? If so,
what?

I will be developping a planning application for wich it's necessary for
multiple users to view and edit the same data, all changes made by one user,
must be visible to the other user's more or less immediately (on their pc).
So I'm looking for a mechanism with wich I can notify the 'other'
applications on the network of any changes so they can update their 'view'
if necessary.
Although I think I'm capable of solving this problem by...

Hi there,
I am working on a distributed service detection project, written in C/C++
Platform is Linux. Each system under network has mysql database for general storage. If first node queries to second node and if request gets satisfied, First node will put these results in its local cache table. So whenever same query gets fired on first node, it would just return the results from its cache table.
The problem arises when second node changes...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
