TypeConverter in a form property

Hi all,

i´m doing a form to be Inherited, and inside it has a property that i
create.
that property is one class with several propertys ( simple ones integers and
strings )

And in my Inherited form, the property appears there :D so far so good.

but i need to edit it. so i have create an typeconverter, so that property
to be explandable in design time.

now the problems start.

this property is similar to the font property, every time i change in the
base form it changes in every derived form. except if the derived form has
already changed that property.

But in my class it not works like that. every time i change in the base form
the other forms seems to be changed, but when i do some kind of modification
in a derived form ( ex: move a button and save ) it saves the property
with the parent values ?

can someone help me ???

thks
JSB

I'm getting different behavior from what I would expect and was hoping someone could clue me in. At run time I need to examine a property of an object for a custom TypeConverter, then use that converter on a value. Here's the deal: object attrs=(object)PropertyInfo.GetCustomAttributes(typeof(TypeConverterAttribu te),false);

Is there a TypeConverter that converts Doubles to percent values in a PropertyGrid? The Windows.Forms.Form.Opacity property seems to use the TypeConverter that I want. Thank you, Lance

Hi all, Apologies for the cross-post but I can't determine if this is a VS .NET problem or a VB.NET language issue. I'm using .NET 1.1 SP1, VS 2003 EA, VB.NET. I'm coding a custom component which is designed to be dropped onto a form and have it's properties manipulated at runtime. I have a custom implementation of the TypeConverter class called UniversalTypeConverter which inherits from ExpandableObjectConverter, and for the most...

Hi, I 'm facing an interesting issue regarding a property and its TypeConverter. When i do not attach a TypeConverter to this property, all custom properties of my custom control are displayed in Test Container. Since i attached this TypeConverter to my property, ALL custom properties (properties implemented by myself) are not displayed in Test Container.

I am developing a web user control and have a property exposed of type object. What I want is that when this user control is placed on a web form this property will pick up all the textboxes and give the user an option to choose from those values. Something very similar to what we've in CompareValidator where we get to choose the name of the control to compare etc. Just to be more clear: a.) On a web form I'll place my user control. b.) User...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
