In the context of LATEX, some Pythonista asked what the big
successes of Lisp were. I think there were at least three *big*
successes.
a. orbitz.com web site uses Lisp for algorithms, etc.
b. Yahoo store was originally written in Lisp.
c. Emacs
The issues with these will probably come up, so I might as well
mention them myself (which will also make this a more balanced

Is there a safe way to get the version of IE? I've done a google and
found this code:
var version=0
if (navigator.appVersion.indexOf("MSIE") != -1) {
temp = navigator.appVersion.split("MSIE");
version = parseFloat(temp);
}
but I have no idea how "robust" it is.

Hi,
In oracle I have a LAG function using which I could get the previous
value of a field.
Do we have anything similar to that in SQL Server or access?
Thanks

Hi everybody,
I want to create dynamic breadcrumbs for a site I am developing. I just
want to get some views about the algorithm of breadcrumbs.
The way I look at it is the concept of parent/ child (main/ sub). I
have the "Home" page, which has links to sub-pages such as
"Introduction", "History", "Timetable", etc. Each page can have other
sub-pages, such as "Timetable" can have "Semester1", "Semester2", etc.
This is how I'd initially...

This is driving me nuts for last one week. Appreciate any assistance.
I have ASP.NET web application with many pages. Some of them post back
to itself and then links to another page.
Everything was working great so far. Recently we did some modifications
(included a new page) and after that things have gone ugly.
This is the issue: Lets say the user has browsed through number of
pages, came to one particular page (search), posted the...

I come from a background of Java and C# where it is common practise to have
one class per file in the file/project structure. As I have understood it,
it is more common practice to have many classes in a Python module/file.
What is the motivation behind it, would it be a bad idea to have a guideline
in your project that promotes a one class per file structure (assuming most
of the programmers a background similar to mine)?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
