Checking for .Net Framwork

I have created an ASP.net web application that need to be installed on a client computer. Is there a way to check if the client pc has the .Net Framework installed or not? If there is a way to check, what do I need to do in my deployment package?
Thanks.

I would like to know if I create an application in Application Development Framwork for 10g, will that be compatible with Oracle Db 9i and Oracle's 9i front-end tools? I suppose ADF has more improved features than BC4J so thats why I'm asking. We currently have Oracle 9i Db and 9i IDS. Is it also possible to create a Windows(not java or web) front-end using an Oracle tool which then will use BC4J to connect to the Db? To my knowledge, ADF...

Hi All! I'm new to .NET and I've made a few searches on the net and finally found that the key to understand Microsoft .NET development process is to understand Microsoft .NET Framework classes and each of their purposes. It doesn't matter what language I use (either VB.NET, C#, or any other languages). So I'm just wondering if you could point me out the websites OR books that explain each of the .NET Framwork Classes in detail?

After installing .NET Framework SP1, I find that re-compiling Visual C++.NET code with Visual Studio 2003 (v 7.1.3088) that previously compiled successfully gives rise to two errors: C2039: 'SuppressFinalize' : is not a member of 'System::GC' : see declaration of 'System::GC'. This diagnostic occurred in the compiler generated function 'Bridge::~Bridge' C3861: 'SuppressFinalize': identifier not found, even with argument-dependent...

Hi all, I've got a problem on one of my production systems in that it is using the 1.034 version of the framework by default, even though v1.1 is installed. I tried simply pointing to the new version using the ISAPI filter, but that generates an undecipherable "500" error, on my applications. When I go into Add Remove programs, I see both versions of the framework listed. This, to me, is entirely strange - as this server is part of a

Does anyone have any coding rules they follow when doing argument checking? When arguments fail during check, do you return from the call with an ambiguous return value, or do you throw exceptions?

I have a VB6 app that uses SQLServer2005 connection to store/retrieve data. I want (I think) to get access to a(some) Server events. Seems this is doable if I can instantiate the SQLConnector Class and use some of it's methods in my VB6 app. My question: can I use the NET framwork from within a VB6 app? If yes, then where can I get info (book, tutorial, etc.) on how this is accomplished. Sorry, converting this app to NET is not possible...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
