No Smart Device Application template?

Hi!
I need to create a VB.NET application for a Pocket PC. I've installed
VB.Net, the .NET Compact Framework and the Microsoft Pocket PC 2003 SDK.

Still, there is no "Smart Device Application" template under New
Project/Visual Basic Projects.

I've tried deinstalling and reinstalling everything - still no template.

What am I doing wrong?

Answered in another group... boils down to... you need VS.Net.. not just
VB.Net

Microsoft has simply neglected to add disclaimers stating "Visual Basic.NET
examples do not work with the product called Visual Basic.NET", or "Where we
tell you to upgrade from Embedded Visual Basic to Visual Basic.NET, we
really mean some other product - no, seriously."

Yup. Gotcha.

Roger, I just purchased VB.Net and VC#.Net 2003. Do you mean to say that I
can't use either product to develop PocketPC applications, either alone or in
conjuction with the downloadable Mobile Applications Development Toolkit?

thanks

That's what I found, and what others here have confirmed. The stand-alone
VB.Net does not have the capability to create Pocket PC apps - for that you
need Visual Studio.Net.

Well, luckily for me there's SharpDevelop, aka #D, and on their forum are
some instructions for using that IDE to develop applications which can be
targetted to PocketPC devices.

For that matter, I also found that I can develop apps in Python and Tkinter
and they run on the Pocket PC. Total cost: $0.

Microsoft is totally out of touch with the needs of casual developers, who
are the force that has made PalmOS far more endowed in terms of applications
than WindowsCE. I won't be paying three times the price of my device just
to have an IDE for developing apps for my device.

cheers
S

I also want the ability for the user to remove rows from the grid. The first problem is that this data is not in any database. The second is that I am developing a smart device application which...

Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
