Opening files using window.open(fil e:///G:\phs-4.pdf)

could someone give me some advise on a problem I have. At present i have a
web application which displays pdf files in a web browser using javascript
and the window.open method and pointing to a web address like
window.open(http://.........).
I have been asked to find out if it is possible to do something similar but
instead opening a file located on my web server e.g.(G:\psh-4.pdf). I would
like to be able to display the file in the web browser using the
window.open method again but this time pointing to the location on my web
server. I need to be able to open the file using something like:
window.open(fil e:///G:\phs-4.pdf).
Does anyone know if this is possible and if so has anyone any examples of
where this has been done before? Any explanations about how this works would
also be useful as I have to try and explain this.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.

I want to send people to a new page using a redirect but I want a new window to open. Is this possible? I've tried this: <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://search.epnet.com/direct.asp?jn=HBR&db=bch target=_blank"> but it doesn't open a new browser window. Is there a way to do this?

Hello, I would like to be able to open a new IE window on the client side and display a PDF document in the new window. Many tutorial sites that I have checked suggest opening a new IE window using client-side JavaScript and the window.open() function. I suspect this is not the desired way as I would like to output a PDF report from a byte array to the HTTP output stream to this new window. Any ideas?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
