I am ready to move my ASP web site onto a remote host. The
problem is that when I use Terminal Services to see the
host machine, the error does not show up.
(I was told that debugging info is only sent to
the 'console' session, no others). And the whole thing
locks up when there is a server error. How can I see the
server errors through Terminal Services?
Thanks,
Sara

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,
I have a very simple problem but cannot seem to figure it out. I have a
very simple php script that sends a test email to myself. When I debug
it in PHP designer, it works with no problems, I get the test email. If

I have no idea what is going on. I have a Login screen where someone types
in their login information and this populates a datagrid based off of the
login. Works great in debug and test through VS, however, when I change to
release and put it out on the web it fails giving me the following error
message
The underlying connection was closed. Could not establish a trust
relationship with the remote server.

Hi,
I've created a little site for my sports club. In the root folder there are
pages that are viewable by every anonymous user but at a certain subfolder
my administration pages should be protected by forms authentication.
When I create forms authentication at root level it works but when I move my
code up to the subfolder I get this error:
Server Error in '/TestProjects/FormsAuthenticationTestingArea' Application.

I am getting the debuggin error: "The breakpoint will not currently be hit.
No symbols have been loaded for this document."
Let me set the background here. Our debugging was working, our network
services group tried to setup debugging without the need for administrator
rights. I got the error above, the error went away. They gave up on the
non-administrator debugging... The error is back.
Let me say this before everyone starts...

(About me: I know very little about writing server applications. I
have done plenty of VB6 desktop app work but this is my first server
program. I got it to work by modifying examples. I understand what
it is doing but not much about what is involved in extending it. )
I am not necessarily looking for code examples here, just some
pointers as to what direction I need to proceed to resolve these
things.
I have written a...

I have a Windows vb.net app that creates an Object from a .net dll that I wrote.
If the dll fails to achieve its task I get it the re-throw an exception.
the windows app encapulates the object creation in a try catch block.

Try

Catch ex As Exception

The MSDN documentation on remote debugging is a bit sparse, to say the
least, and there is almost no information available on the 'best' way to
configure this. I should note that my development system is Windows XP
Pro and the test machine is Windows 2003, both running the latest
upgrades; Visual Studio 2005 is installed on the development system and
the .Net 2.0 framework is installed on the test system. The two systems
do not have the...

Hi
I have developed a client/server application in C# that worked
perfectly in my office but not so perfectly after deploying it to our
client.
A little information about the architecture first:
Both the client and server components are written in c#, windows forms
for the front-end and the back end is exposed through IIS using
webservices. We are using Impersonate in the web.config.
The application is a warehouse inventory system,...

Hi All
I have a task that I'm thinking about attacking in two different ways
but don't know enough about Windows Services.
First:
We have a server application written in VB.net that acts as a
middleman between various Fortan DLL's (the calculation engines) and
various front end client applications (one in Java and two in

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
