KB Article Wrong for checking version of framework?

Anyone else notice the info in KB318785 regarding 1.1 SP1 is wrong or is it
just my installs? I've installed SP1 on quite a few PCs recently, and on
every one, the version of mscorcfg.dll is still 1.1.4322.573 and still
datestamped 2/21/2003. Plenty of other files in the Framework\v1.1. 4322 have
been updated to the newer version, but not that one. Nor does the "Microsoft
..NET Framework Configuration" tool in Administrative Tools. Still says
Version 1927 also. The article says both places should say 1.1.4322.2032 for
SP1. Either SP1 isn't updating all the files it should, or the instructions
on how to identify the version installed need to be changed.

Let me start off with a brief overview... This part is not really important, just saying what its for... I had been working on a Windows GUI library (DLL) when suddenly my boss told he wanted a static .lib version so he could give a customer a single .exe file for the "free version". Certain parts of my library are required to live inside a DLL.

ASP.NET app using c# and framework version 1.1.4322.573 on a IIS 6.0 web server. A single-line asp:textbox control and regexp validator attached to it. ^\d+$ expression does match an empty string (when you don't enter any values) - this is wrong d+ expression does not match, for example "g24" string - this is also wrong www.regexplib.com test validator works fine for both cases, i.e. it is reporting "not match" for the...

I've been struggling with this thing for 2 days, and after searching the 'net for help, I cannot find what is wrong. We're using Crystal Reports XI Release 2, with Visual Studio .NET 2003 in an ASP.NET 1.1 application. I've got a CrystralReportsViewer control on an ASP.NET page. Once the page gets hit I get the following error message (this is running on my development machine):

"Unless you have a very good reason to catch an exception, DON'T. Exceptions are supposed to be exceptional, just like the dictionary meaning: uncommon, unusual. When in doubt, let the calling routine, or the global exception handler, deal with it. This is the golden rule. The hardest kinds of exceptions to troubleshoot are the ones that don't even exist, because a developer upstream of you decided to consume it." What's "global...

I'm having a hard time tying to build gcc 4.3.1 on Solaris using the GNU compilers. I then decided to try to use Sun's compiler. The Sun Studio 12 compiler reports the following code, which is in the source (gcc-4.3.1/gcc/c-common.c) of gcc 4.3.1, is a syntax error. I'm inclined to agree, as it is like no C I have ever met. what is "C_COMMON_FIXED_TYPES (, fract);" supposed to mean? Could it be

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
