Web browser click event for links

This is a re-post of a message I posted in .languages.csha rp a few weeks
back, I got no response there so I'm hoping someone here can help. If
there is a better NG than this one, please let me know.
Hi all,

I've been searching Google for information but I must be searching for
the wrong terms, because I can't find a thing.

I'm using the AxWebBrowser control and I'm writing my own content for it
on the fly (no actual external documents being loaded). Everything for
this works fine.

What I want to do though is intercept all click events when a user
clicks on a link. I want to be able to get the HREF value for the link
clicked, and then cancel the event so the browser control doesn't try to
do anything with it. I'll be using the HREF value for some processing,
and will manually update the browser contents as required.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please, I'm giving up with
Google for the time being.

TIA

Steve.

how do I know when the browser is making a request to the server? I am not having an onclick event for EVERY hyperlink, submit, etc. There must be some javascript function that I can overwrite that will allow me to do something when the browser requests something from the server. My plan is whenever a browser is about to request something from the server to create a time stamp and then compare this time to the time when the page...

This may not be an asp.net problem but one of our customers is running into this with our asp.net application. They log into our web application which is hosted on their servers. After logging in, one different workstations each time, their IE 6.0 browser does not let them click on certain HTML links. The links are regular HTML to the browser, but when clicked nothing happens. No progress bar begins and the browser doesn't respond. ...

In it's simplest form, assume that I have created a usercontrol, WSToolBarButton that contains a button. I would like to eventually create copies of WSToolBarButton dynamically at run time based on some initialization information obtained elsewhere. Basically, I'm going to create my own dynamic toolbar where the toolbarbuttons can change. I'm not using the VB toolbar because of limitations in changing things like backcolor (I can't get...

Hi all, I am trying to get a way by which I'll know exactly when user goes out of my site by clicking on close button in browser, So that w/e user click close button in browser, I can send a signal to server. This seems to be achievable with body unload events, but it is little too much, as even if user navigate within my site, this event will be generated, this can be avoided by handling onclick of each link, so that I'll know exactly...

Hi. I just ran into a situation where I want to emulate the IE specific obj.click() syntax on an object on the webpage. The most convenient thing for me is if I were able to just select my object document.getElementById('myobj').click() Do you know any cross-browser solutions to that? (must work in firefox as a minimum).

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
