I'm working on an app that persists a few classes with shelve. But if I
load older saved classes, I get an exception in code that uses the new
attributes, of course.
What is the best way to load these older classes, check for the new
attributes, and add them so they will work with the new code?

I'm trying to retrieve the users email address via ADSI in ASP.
So far, I have the following code:
Set oUser = GetObject("WinNT://domain/" & Request.Form("UID") & ",user")
Response.Write oUser.EmailAddress
But I get the following message:
"The directory property cannot be found in the cache. "

I want to make my own attributes that should only be used in derived classes
so the base class can get some metadata of fields in derived classes. for
that reason i try to define a new attribute class in my base class and use
it in the derived classes...
so far so good but when i want to retrieve the attributes with
Type.GetCustomAttributes it doesn't work until i make the attribute class
public. Is there another way to access attributes...

Hi
I've been trying to read the following attributes from Active Directory:
networkAddress and netbootGUID. (Using c# and the DirectoryEntry class.)
Tried to search, and explicitt load these attributes into the cache, and
I've tried to bind directly to the computer object, and refresh these
attributes in the cache.
The computer account I'm using as test account has values in these
attributes, but when I list properties in my cache they...

Hi all,
I am trying to get custom attributes from a property. I can do this if I
pass in the name of the property i.e. "Name" to the reflection methods, but
if I pass in set_Name which is what the set piece of the Name property gets
compiled to, which I am getting from the stack trace, then the attributes are
not returned.
For example, Class Person has a property called "Name" which has a custom
attribute decorating it. Inside the set...

I've been reading about Python Classes, and I'm a little confused about
how Python stores the state of an object. I was hoping for some help.
I realize that you can't create an empty place holder for a member
variable of a Python object. It has to be given a value when defined,
or set within a method.
But what is the difference between an Attribute of a Class, a
Descriptor in a Class, and a Property in a Class?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
