Runtime PictureBox Resizing

Hi Guys and Girls,

Does anybody no how to resize a picturebox control at runtime? When i say resize, i mean the actual edges of the picturebox, ie. being able to drag the edges out just as if you went to the ends of a form, the cursor changes to a double ended arrow and you click and drag it as you want.

Any suggestions would be good,
Jesse

Problem: The PictureBox display appears to have the image cut off. I.e., the image bottom does not display although the PictureBox has room for it. It occurred to me that what was displayed was the same size as the PictureBox was before it was resized. So I figured the bitmap was too small and tried to increase it's size as shown below. Two things: First it didn't fix the problem. Secondly, I'm not sure I've done it correctly and...

Can someone tell me how you go about handling events where your window might be obscured and then when you bring it to the foreground, you want your picturebox control to be repainted instead of showing large, blocked out areas created by overlapping windows. I have seen numerous references to onpaint etc but I haven't found an example to follow or at least my own efforts with onpaint haven't been fruitful as yet.

Hello Newsgroup, I try to resize and move a picturebox. However, after each operation the picture box is being redrawn. This causes flickering. Is it possible to suppress the first redraw and draw both operations at once after they have been completed? I have tried overriding OnPaint, OnBackgroundErase, etc. Double Buffering, AllPaintingInWmPaint, etc. has been set to true. No success so far. Now I'm trying to catch Windows Messages like...

Hi, I've got a Picturebox, into which I am putting a frame bitmap from a video camera. The camera bitmap is larger than the picturebox, which has SizeMode set to "Zoom" which causes the bitmap to be resized and correctly displayed. My question is whether letting the Picturebox do the bitmap resizing is the most efficient mechanism, or whether it would be preferable to perfrom the resizing myself before passing the modified image to...

Hi everyone, I have a drawn picturebox image in Visual Basic 6.0 which I would like to save to disk. I can do that through the SavePicture(PictureBox.Image, "filepath") function. Yet this produces unaccaptable large pictures of 600 dpi, 32 bit color whereas 100 dpi 16 bit color would be more than enough. I've been searching a lot how to change the resolution of the bitmap, alas I cannot find a way. There are examples on the net about...

I have recently designed a Winform Image drag & drop utility. The approach I took was to have a Panel control serve as a destination for multiple file drop. Once the user dragged & dropped the desired files I do a check to ensure that I only process the image files (".jpg", ".png", etc), while any other files are ignored by the program. For every image file being dropped I programmatically create a PictureBox control, do proper resizing of an...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
