Frustrating - ....exe.config file is deleted when I biuild the solution!

I copied my project on a new computer and try to debug it.

When solution is built the exe.config file is completely gone !!!!
(not jast from the project but from the hard drive too).

Can anyone tell me what's going on?!

The fact is that I created solution in 2002 version and on the new
computer use 2003 version (both enterprize architect)

Thanks in advance

I'm encountering a strange situation with a .config file for a simple windows form test harness I built to test some components normally invoked by a windows service. My config file, "testharness.exe.config," has some <system.diagnostics> settings (trace listeners). When my file is read only, things are fine. However, when I toggle the read-only attribute off (so I can edit it), and then run my test harness, as soon as I get to the...

I'm would assume this question been asked, but a search of the newsgroup didn't produce a hit. I've upgraded to VS 2003 and when I execute the program from within the IDE, the .config file in the bin directory is being deleted (which means that my program is not finding the configuration file). This behavior didn't occur with 2002. Does anyone know of a solution? TIA,

i have a windows app which has an app.config file in the solution. The config file holds information such as connection string details. When I create a setup project and include the primary output of my solution into it then it all installs perfectly.... My issue is this... I may need to amend the app.config file which I do in notepad on the client machine, however when I need to upgrade the application I remove the program from the...

I have what I think should be a pretty common scenario in a corporate environment. I have a web app and three environments on three servers: Development, QA and Production. We develop in development and then deploy the updated application to our QA server and then once tested to our production server. The application has a web.config file. The contents of the file (appsettings part) are different in all three environments because...

I have a test application that is calling an assembly that reads some strings out of a config file. Normally, this assembly supports a web application and the information can be read just fine. Then I created a C# test application and ran the function. The function fails because the configuration read is failing to find a key. I created an application config and copied the keys over to the app config file but the app is still failing to...

Hello, (Is this the proper newsgroup?) === Background === I am building a solution with two projects. One project is my data access layer which contains my DataSet as an xsd file. The XSD file was built by draging tables from the Data Sources pane. Auto-generated code created the files associated wtih the XSD file (xss,

I built a VB.net application that makes use of a machine level DB connection string setting, and a user level starting location setting. The machine level setting and the default user based setting is of course stored in the app.exe.config file located in the same directory as the exe. Upon closing the form, I save the user setting which then creates a user.config file in the appdata directory in my profile. This is all well and good....

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
