I'm encountering a strange situation with a .config file
for a simple windows form test harness I built to test
some components normally invoked by a windows service.
My config file, "testharness.exe.config," has some
<system.diagnostics> settings (trace listeners).
When my file is read only, things are fine. However, when

I'm would assume this question been asked, but a search of the newsgroup
didn't produce a hit.
I've upgraded to VS 2003 and when I execute the program from within the IDE,
the .config file in the bin directory is being deleted (which means that my
program is not finding the configuration file). This behavior didn't occur
with 2002. Does anyone know of a solution?

I copied my project on a new computer and try to debug it.
When solution is built the exe.config file is completely gone !!!!
(not jast from the project but from the hard drive too).
Can anyone tell me what's going on?!
The fact is that I created solution in 2002 version and on the new
computer use 2003 version (both enterprize architect)

I built a VB.net application that makes use of a machine level DB
connection string setting, and a user level starting location setting.
The machine level setting and the default user based setting is of
course stored in the app.exe.config file located in the same directory
as the exe. Upon closing the form, I save the user setting which then
