web control events don't fire sometimes

Events such as ListControl 'item selected'
or a command button
stop firing from external browser or VS debugger.

But if I debug and set breakpoint in the event,
then it works. And then it starts working
with external browser, as well, though
I have not changed the source code.

Hi, I have a COM control / server I'm trying to get events from in my c# applications. 1) I'm trying to get events in both c# console apps and in c# winform apps. 2) I can call methods on the COM control / server ok, I just don't receive any events. The method calls are definitely successful. 3) I have got events and communicated ok with other COM controls from c# - it's just this one I have a problem with. 4) I can communicate...

No events on my page will fire. I created a button to test if anything happens at all. When I click on it the onclick event does not fire. This is the same for all events on the page. Any ideas? Brent

I've noticed that none of the child controls events are firing for the first time from the dynamic user control. Here is the event cycle. 1) MainPage_load 2) User control1_Load user clicks a dropdown in UC1 _________________________ 1) MainPage_Load 2) User Control_1 Load

Hi, Is there documentation that talks about the page lifecycle, the lifecycle of controls on the page, and the rendering of inline code, in a single document? Thanks, John

Hi I have a user control that contains three dropdownlists that I populate according to what was selected in the other dropdownlist (i.e. populate dropdownlist2 after selecting a value in dropdownlist1) The App works fine if I don't add the user control that I created and all events on the page work and thus the App is perfect. But as soon as I add my user control (Here used as the TopNav for my page) all

Hi everyone! I've made quite a lot of research on this, and I've tried a couple of proposed solutions. Nothing has worked for me, but I feel there's not much I'm missing. So I'm turning to this group and its experts for answers. So : - I've got a main page (main.aspx) - On this page, I've got a button (btnArchive), on whose click I dynamically add a UserControl (archive.ascx) to the main page.

The requirement is to send some information to other objects. The objects to whom the information has to be sent is not available at compile time. The names of the types (objects) will be provided through an external file in which case we can use reflection to create objects of that type at run time. Case 1: The methods of those types can be invoked through reflection. Case 2: The caller can publish certain events. The types (objects)...

I hate to repost a message, but I am still at the same point where I was when I originally posted, and hopefully someone else will see this one... Ok, so I have gone off and documented the lifecycle of a page with a custom composite control on it. You can find that document here: http://www.ats-engineers.com/lifecycle.htm

Hello, I created a user control that has a ListBox and a RadioButtonList (and other stuff). The idea is that I put the user control on the ASPX page multiple times and each user control will load with different data (locations, departments, etc.).

Hi I have a JS library that I want others in my company to use that uses AttachEvent (etc) to add a method to the onLoad event so that it is called. Using this approach of course is good because then my onLoad event does not clobber that of others programmers in my company that may be already using onLoad for something else (in this case both their onLoad event and mine will fire). However I'm finding that in some cases it is important...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
