Start Page trouble

Hello all,

I am having trouble with the Visual Studio .NET Start Page. When I click on
the left-pane links such as "Online Community" and "Headlines" I get an
error message saying:

"This feature requieres that you have connected to the internet previously
or are currently online."

However, I AM connected to the Internet!

So what's wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Jerome Smith

Hello Jerome,

Make sure that you work online in IE (File --> Work Offline) make sure that
this option is not checked.

Thank you Maher,
Yes, I am working online in IE, and still the Start Page does not work and
the error message is the same.
If you have any further ideas I would really appreciate it.
Cheers,
Jerome

Hello again,

Maybe you should play a little with the Firewall settings in IE -> Tools ->
Options -> Connection tab -> LAN setting

Regards,

Alright, I need to learn PHP, but honestly I'm having trouble with some of the online tutorials for two reasons: 1. They're incredibly dry and tend to just say what things do instead of going in-depth into examples. 2. They don't provide me with excercises and projects in which to test out what I've learned. The best books I've ever read...
