COM component is downloaded every time I visit the html page.

I have COM component embedded on html page. It has version 1.0.0.1 (by default). I have converted it in cab file. Code of html is something like:
<HTML><HEAD></HEAD><BODY><OBJ ECT CLASSID="CLSID: D3BEF9B9-F7B5-4C24-B247-32257F37FDB6"
CODEBASE="COM.C AB#version=1,0, 0,1"></OBJECT></HTML>
As per my understanding if client access this page for the first time the cab file will be downloaded, unzipped and the COM component should be registered on the client machine. When the client access this page and the version of the dll is not changed it should not download the cab file again.

But in my case it is not behaving this way.
The Com component is downloaded every time client access this page. Every time after first time when client access this page it create a directory named conflict.1 (conflict.2, conflict.3 etc.) under "Winnt/Downloded Program Files" (in win2k, windows//Downloded Program Files in WinXP) and downloads the dll on that directory.

How can I avoid this behavior so that it is downloaded just once?
What I need to do to change the version number of the dll?

Hi all, I have a page that's long (>400kb) and therefore takes several seconds to download. I want to put either a progress bar or a simple counter that would show how many percent of the page have been downloaded. Is there a property or a method that returns how many bytes of the page have been downloaded at a given time? Also how do I get...

I saw a lot of requests for a program like this, so I wrote it. Yeah, my site has "PSP software by Auri" but in this case it means "Pretty Sweet Programming" :) There's both a VS2005 add-in and a standalone app (separate downloads, you don't need both). This is my second developer utility this year - my first being the Lorem Ipsum generator...

The definition of a component model I use below is a class which allows properties, methods, and events in a structured way which can be recognized, usually through some form of introspection outside of that class. This structured way allows visual tools to host components, and allows programmers to build applications and libraries visually in...

Hi, Is there a way to retrieve a web page and before it is entirely downloaded, begin to test if a specific string is present and if yes stop the download ? I believe that urllib.openurl(url) will retrieve the whole page before the program goes to the next statement. I suppose I would be able to do what I want by using the sockets module,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
