Question for application path

Hi,

I have a class can be use by either Web Application or
Window Application. Inside of this class, I need to get
the application root. I know I can use
System.web.Http Context.Current .Request.Physic alApplicationP
ath to get the Application Path for Web Application, But
question is:
1) How do I know what type of application(Web or
Window)?
2) How to get the Application Path for the window app?

Thanks!

Hi everyone, This is probably a pretty stupid question but does anyone know if its possible to use relative addressing when it comes to accessing an image of the file system? In particular, I am making a simple application that needs to load a treeview with icons. The icons are stored in a folder called icons under the application's directory. (The folder exists in the same dir as the bin folder and the debug folder)

I just realized that the code I inherited is using all asp.net server controls (ie. webform controls) and when I try to update textboxes on the client side, I lose the new value of the textbox when submitting the form to update the database. The server doesn't have the client side value any more. It seems to me that as I begin to write the client side javacript code for form validation and client side editing capabilities in order to save...

Hi: Is it possible for me to create/open web application from remote machine other than port 80? And create application directly under virtual web site instead of creating a virtual directory? Because there is a developing server in our company running IIS with multiple web sites, each one has its own port number. In real scenario, no applications will run under virtual directory, but directly under a site. Thanks!

Hello, I am trying to use vs.net 2005 to migrate a project originally in vs.net 2003. I started with creation of a "web site", and then created folders for each component of the site. I read somewhere that each folder under the "web site" is compiled in separate assembly. I however, did not find that the "web site" creation in vs.net 2005 created any AssemblyInfo.cs file.

Hi all, This is a multipart question. I’ve got an asp.net site that contains an access database. Previously, I would debug by making changes and uploading to my host. Now, I’d like to be able to debug locally and then deploy. I’d really like to use a relative path for the database file (so I could make no changes between hostide and debugging client side. When I try to use a relative path, it doesn’t seem to be referring to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
