.net alert ;causing unability to run

I have a problem. When I try and run Visual Basic i get
an alert- it says
-----------------------------------------------------
Alert!
-----------------------------------------------------

Symantec Script Blocking has prevented a script that
could be harmfull to you.
Application: Devenv.exe
Source File:
Object:File System Object
Method: Getspecial folder

------------------------------------------------------

I do not have any Anti-Virus Software and because of that
alert i cannot use Microsoft Visual Studios . net

How to write a function f(x) or f('x') so that it produces the same output as a call to alert-function: var x='abc'; alert('x='+x); In testing one needs to write similar alert() calls often. By having a function f(), which would add the variable name in front of the variable value one would save a lot of typing during one's lifetime.

Hi All, I've got a strange problem in IE that I wonder if anyone has seen before. Basically, I've got a two window scenario. The parent window opens the child via window.open(). The child contains a form and submissions are processed in the child window. When the child window form is submitted and the results are returned, an alert box is thrown up via setTimeout("alert(....)", 2000). For some odd reason, when this alert is...

Here's a successful contrivance, with comments & cautions, a little page that works in IE6. <HTML><HEAD><SCRIPT TYPE="text/javascript"> function alt() { document.all.s1.innerHTML="Current Temp: 68°F"; var txt=document.all.s1.innerText; alert(txt); }

So, basically, I need to detect whether an alert window was thrown. I can't find where it's thrown from but I need to disable a button only if there were no alert windows thrown. Any ideas? Thanks Alex

While reading c.l.j, I've noticed that some people prefer and indeed even recommend the use of "window.alert()" over "alert()". I can't find any technical reason to make this distinction, and seems to have a (tiny) amount overhead since window itself points to the global object, hence, a circular reference. (From everything I am reading, window is just a REFERENCE back to the global object, as opposed to a separate object.)

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
