Is there anything wrong with using a lot of include files?
On one part of my website, I have a form. The page it posts data to,
includes a different file based on some of the values. The include
files also include other pages based on different values. All of
these work together to select the right information from the database
and display it in the correct format.
I'm just wondering if it is better to put all the code in one file...

Hello everyone,
I know how to add images and icons etc to dll file.
What I would like to know is there is a way to add those icons on the forms
during the run time from the dll or to reference it to the dll during the
design time, then when I compile the project and install it, then all the
images still inside the dll file. not to be installed into winnet, or system
or system32 or any directory,
1) is it possible ? and how ? link or...

I just started learning C++ on my own...I'm using Accelerated C++.
Something it hasn't explained and I keep wondering about is how header
files actually work. I suspect it doesn't get into it because it is,
as the authors love to say, "implementation specific". If that's the
case, how does the compiler commonly handle them? I use Linux and gcc
specifically. Basically, I don't understand how a header file being
included makes a...

Hi all
I have a group of files that I store independently in a temporary folder on
the c: drive. Typical things are ini files, bitmaps, icons etc. All access
to the files is hardcoded within my software
e.g.
private Bitmap myTick = new Bitmap(@"C:\TempManager\tick.gif"); etc....
What I would like to do is have the contents of \TempManager become

Hi all,
I'm working with the .NET framework and Web Matrix and am having trouble
finding how to tie together the files when deriving classes. What I've got
is a TestBase.cs file that defines a class derived from page. I also have a
codebehind file that I'm referencing from an ASP.NET page. For example,
something like:

I have a sample vb .net 2.0 winforms app and am using Oneclick deployment to
a remote server. All of the files (DLLs, EXEs, manifests, configs, etc.)
seem to get deployed to the target folder on the client OK and seem to work
OK, Except for some additional files I created for the client application.
For example, I have a file called myData.xml and myCustomConfix.xml which
the windows app uses. In the old 1.1 days (while working in the...

Hey guys. I'm currently working through a number of C programming
exercises to get me up to speed with the syntax. Before now I have
been using Fortran and I've found Plato3 in Windows to be an excellent
environment in which to create, compile, debug and run my Fortran
programmes.
I was delighted when I found that Plato3 can also work in C. However,
I am at the stage where I need to be using multiple source files and
to be linking their...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
