147 New Member
hi,

I have created a new user in mysql by the root user.
user:san
password:san

when i login into mysql as a normal user :

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.       shell> mysql  -u san -psan databasename

Now,i am trying to use

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.  mysql>load data infile 'C:/text.txt' into table born fields terminated by ',' lines terminated by '\r\n';
  2.

Error msg:

Access denied for use san@loacalhost( using password 'YES')

But i have GRANTED ALL PRIVILEGES for the user.But its working very finely if i login as a ROOT user.

A normal user :
1.cant create a new user
2.cant create a new database
3.cant change a password
4.cant use "LOAD data " also va............. .......

only they can do "SELECT,INSERT, UPDATE,DELETE.. ..."

How did you GRANTED ALL PRIVILEGES?

For security reasons, when reading text files located on the server, the files must either reside in the database directory or be readable by all. Also, to use LOAD DATA INFILE on server files, you must have the FILE privilege.

Hi all, I made a question several days before to describe my strange trouble of mysqldump. But I still can't figour it out. Well, I just want to ask another question whether I could just backup my databases by copying the data folder to some place? Then if I meet some disaster, could I just copy the backup folder back to recover my databases? Thank you. Zh.y

Hello, I am using "load" to get the table data from another database into a DB2 database. This works quite well (before that I used "import" which is, as it commits each "line", very slow). The problem I have now is that when I insert some data into one table a table which stores forgein keys from the first table has no data yet - so the table loses its "integrity". So I have to run "set integrity" for each table (and in the right...

I've been tracking down a memory leak using DevPartner 7.2 and what I am seeing is that calling XmlDocument.Load() leaks A LOT of memory. The following code is called when I click a button on my test form. (this is test code I wrote to confirm the bug, not my actual code) private void button1_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { XmlDocument xd = new XmlDocument();

Is there any way for one Session to remove and update objects in another Session? I seriously doubt it, but thought I'd ask. Here's why: I have some data that is unique per user (or per session - similar to "welcome back, Jim" after Jim logs in) and consumed across multiple pages. This "per user" data lives in a database, so toward improving runtime performance I want to cache data supporting this and similar per user features. Because the...

Ok before I get started let it be known I am the definition of a newbie when it comes to access and VBA. I know very little about access and nothing about VBA. I am in the Army and am tasked with making a maintenance program for medical equipment. I have the database, the query, the forms, and the reports. I was able to figure those out, but there is one thing that is beyond me. Ok I have three tables call them table "A" table "B" and...

Hi Everyone, I have a table in which one of the text fields has become too small (since it only holds 255 characters). To remedy that, I'm trying to change the data type of that field to "memo" in design mode. However, when I go to save the new settings of my table, the error message "Record is too large" pops up and won't allow me to save the table. What am I doing wrong? I work with Access 97 in Windows XP. Thanks for your help!

Hi all, I am converting my app to AJAX-based. I have a form that submits some data including images. When I use AJAX XmlHttpRequest I am unable to submit the form with ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" (error 500). Without ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data", everything goes well. I think there is a header I must use in addition, but I cannot seem to find a good solution. Can you suggest? Thank you. Here is a part of xmlhttp request where I set...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
