I have about 25 years of database design experience, both logical and
physical. Also, I was a methodologist for a company called Knowledgeware
where I served as content expert in database design. I am interested in
learning more about your project. Please email me directly.

Hi, I find much regrettable that Database Engine Tuning Advisor be not part of MS-Express Edition ... A server without such help is not a server. Besides, you've got the tutorials, but not the tool to play with :-((( Regards, JM Blaise

Hello all, I want to use the SQL Server 2005 Tuning Advisor on our database, and I'm hoping someone here can just confirm the steps for me. We have a 10GB database that has a number of applications hitting it constantly, all performing many SELECTs, INSERTs and UPDATEs. Are the following the steps I need to take? 1. Stop all the applications hitting the database. 2. Make a backup of the database.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
