I need to know how about c++ .

I would vote for PHP, because it is so easy with it. The speed
differences are so minor that I don't bulieve you have to worrie about
that. Security is normally not related to the language you use, but how
you use it. All these should be stable enough if you use them correctly.

There are C++ API on MySQL website, depends on your platform and
compiler which to select. If you have a Web application made by PHP and
you need to use MySQL from there, only smart thing is to use PHP for

I'm having problems formatting a date retrieved from mysql database. When I retrieve the date it's in the format YYYY-MM-DD. I need to split the Day, Month and Year portions of the date up so that I can represent them in a drop down menu.
