fatal: libz.so: open failed: No such file or directory

Downloaded the packages from sunfreeware.com and did pkgadd

When I try to run safe_mysqld I get
fatal: libz.so: open failed: No such file or directory

This library is indeed missing

usr/local/mysql/bin %ldd mysql
libncurses.so.5 => /usr/local/lib/libncurses.so.5
libmysqlclient. so.10 => /usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient. so.10
libz.so => (file not found)
libsocket.so.1 => /usr/lib/libsocket.so.1
libnsl.so.1 => /usr/lib/libnsl.so.1
libm.so.1 => /usr/lib/libm.so.1
libc.so.1 => /usr/lib/libc.so.1
libz.so => (file not found)
libdl.so.1 => /usr/lib/libdl.so.1
libmp.so.2 => /usr/lib/libmp.so.2

How do I get it ?

This seems to be the last hurdle ?

Running Solaris 2.6

Thanks
Gary

Hello I hope someone out there can help explain this to me. This afternoon I successfully compiled php4.3.3 with a given set of configuration options. It then transpired that I had used incorrect versions of libxml and libxslt on which to build the php. So I built newer versions of each.

solaris/linux admins/rookie_developers that battle with this error are probably all frustrated when it happens. i bet you're also somehow frustrated by this seemingly unsolvable error :-) ...take it easy, it'll go away once u've learned how to play around with a few things on your system and reorganised. i'm particulary a solaris junkie, but linux is my admiration. the issue here is Not the OS/Software, but rather the concept. first of all...

My Website works pretty good, except when it remains some minutes open without that any click will be made. For example, I'm in breweries.php (a subpage from index.php) and I make nothing except perhaps scrolling. After around 5 minutes I want to go back to the previous page or to the following and I receive the following message: Warning: main(lang..inc.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in...

I am trying to obtain more debugging information for an issue I reported (ref. Bug #37185 <http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=37185&edit=2>). Unfortunately, I do not have access to the now-ancient Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, which is why I cannot use the pre-built debug sysbol files for debugging. So it appears I must build PHP. I grabbed build php5.1-200605011630 earlier today, but am having build problems. My environment is Windows XP SP2,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
