Needed: Script to automatically create missing indexes

We can get a slow query log with log-long-format and even a summarized
version with mysqldumpslow.

But why don't we have a script that can parse the slow query log and
produce sql statements that will create the missing indexes in the MySQL
database tables?

If someone already have this script, I'm interested. If not, let's
create it. I'd be happy to give it a try. What say you?

Regards Jacob

Right now I am backing up mysql 4.0.14 on Windows2000 with a scheduled batch file that shuts down the mysql service - copies the entire data directory to a \backup directory, and restarts the mysql service. this \backup directory then goes onto tape a couple of hours later via veritas remote backup agent. I have tested a restore of this backup method and it works fine. Now I would like to add some more indexes to a table that has 11...

Okay, first of all, I'm a complete noob, so go easy on me. I have this code that works perfectly for me. The only thing I want to add is to randomize the pictures/links that show up. Can anyone just tell me where to add additional code to the following? BTW this is the only code I could find that works in my Beta Blogger sidebar. <a href="javascript:gotoshow()"><img border="0" width="300" src="/OneMissedCall1.jpg" name="slide"...

I'm trying to automate an auto-export of a table on a daily basis, using BCP. I'm using native format for the BCP because the text in one of the fields can encompass pretty much any ASCII characters, and using the other options (including the null terminator, stuff like |||, etc) hasn't worked particularly well. So, I'm archiving out a table on a daily basis. I want to script out the table at the same time; that way, if there are any...

Firebug is reporting "too much recursion" when I attempt to create a child element in a parent that doesn't exist yet. The script should automatically create the missing parent before going on to create the child element. At the point where the script is supposed to call itself with the new properties to create the parent, it gives me the error and looks like it's looping the function continuously. It seems that "id : attrib" (line 192) is...

Hi all, I am comming along with all this Linus/DB2/scripting business...I am no longer scared of it!! (LOL). But, I need to create a .ksh script that does a REORGCHK and output only tables recommended for reorg. My goal is to reorgchk and run reorgs based on entries in this reorg file as shown in the example below. I have tried my hand at the following failing script and hope that gurus here can throw me a lifeline of examples on how to...

Does anything about this script look expensive, in terms of resources or execution time? This script dies after processing about 20 or 25 numbers, yet it leaves no errors in the error logs. This is on a server that handles a fairly demanding site. The defaults, in php.ini, have all been cranked fairly high: scripts get 180 seconds to run, and they can have as much as 256 megs of RAM. The input for this script is coming from a textarea in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
