Before i post actual code, as i need a speedyish reply.
Can i first ask if anyone knows off the top of their head, if there is
a likely obvious cause to the following problem.
For the moment i've reduced my form request to a simple text string
entry, instead of my desired optional parameters. As i have been stuck
with a single unfathomable glitch for over a year.
Basically, if i enter queries such as ;

Ran into a strange problem today:
8.1.7 on AIX 4.3.3
Database and applications had been working fine for two years and all
of a sudden a couple of regularly-run queries are now no longer coming
out in correct sort order specified in the ORDER clauses of the select
statements. Behavior is erratic, about half the time the sort order is

A. May I know why order of evaluation of arguments is not specified in
C/C++?
I asked a question in comp.lang.c++ for the following possibility and
because the languages do not specify the order of evaluation, doing so

Hi,
I was hoping someone could help me with what I'm sure is a very simple
problem...I just can't seem to find the syntax!
I'm wanting to update the rows in 'tbl_consolidate' from 'tbl_hold',
but working through the records in 'tbl_hold' in the order of dates in
a date field, rather than the order that the rows are necessarily in.

I hope someone can help me get this graph outputing in proper order.
After help from Tom, I got a graph to display output from the previous
12 months and include the average of that output all in the one graph.
The output was in the order of the months, but after unioning with the
averages SQL code, the order is lost. Below is the full sql code that

I have the view below and if I use vwRouteReference as the rowsource
for a combo box in an MS Access form or run "SELECT * FROM
vwRouteReference" in SQL Query Analyzer, the rows don't come through
sorted by Numb.
Everything I've read on the web suggests that including the TOP
directive should enable ORDERY BY in views. Does someone have an idea
why the sorting is not working correctly for this particular view? thanks.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
