I have recently set up mySQL on a Mandrake release of Linux (Version 7 of
Mandrake, I believe), using the binary 4.0.13 standard release.
The set up and start up all were normal, as far as I could tell, with no
warnings or error messages.
In nearly all respects, the database appears to be running as expected. I

I really need some help with this. MySQL will not start on boot despite
everything I've done to make sure that it is set to do so.
When I start it as root from a terminal with "/usr/bin/mysqld_safe
--skip-grant-tables &" I show several mysqld procs. and one mysqld_safe,
but I can't connect:

I asked the DBA to start the Server with options -T1204 and -T3605 and

Hi All;
I have what I hope is a simple environmental problem. I have some SQL
that creates a VERY simple procedure. When the create is executed from
Quest (from a Windows client) - no problem. As soon as I go to the
command line (on the actual DB server), I get a strange (and somewhat
frightening) sqlcode -1007 (corrupt tablespace!?). I'm pretty sure it
has something to do with CLP/statement terminator behavior, but cannot
find the recipe...

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
