Help with GRANT

I get an error message with this:

GRANT SELECT , INSERT , UPDATE , DELETE ON sassisc.* TO
sassisc@localho st IDENTIFIED BY 'dodge3'

It comes back with an error message:

SQL-query :

GRANT SELECT , INSERT , UPDATE , DELETE ON sassisc. * TO
sassisc@localho stIDENTIFIEDBY 'dodge3'

MySQL said:

You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that
corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use
near 'BY 'dodge3'' at line 1

For some reason, the words "localhost" , "identified " and "by" were
stuck to each other.
When I execute the same command minus the IDENTIFIED BY part, it works
fine.

What am I doing wrong or missing?

I have recently set up mySQL on a Mandrake release of Linux (Version 7 of Mandrake, I believe), using the binary 4.0.13 standard release. The set up and start up all were normal, as far as I could tell, with no warnings or error messages. In nearly all respects, the database appears to be running as expected. I have the book "PHP and mySQL Web Development" by Luke Welling and Laura Thomson, and have been working through the examples...

I really need some help with this. MySQL will not start on boot despite everything I've done to make sure that it is set to do so. When I start it as root from a terminal with "/usr/bin/mysqld_safe --skip-grant-tables &" I show several mysqld procs. and one mysqld_safe, but I can't connect: # ps -aux| grep mysql Warning: bad syntax, perhaps a bogus '-'? See http://procps.sf.net/faq.html root 3650 0.0 0.1 2276 664 ? S ...

Hi All; I have what I hope is a simple environmental problem. I have some SQL that creates a VERY simple procedure. When the create is executed from Quest (from a Windows client) - no problem. As soon as I go to the command line (on the actual DB server), I get a strange (and somewhat frightening) sqlcode -1007 (corrupt tablespace!?). I'm pretty sure it has something to do with CLP/statement terminator behavior, but cannot find the recipe...

Grant Number Grant Title Amendment Number Revision Number Fund Information Apportion Year (AY), could be a single year or multiple year. Grant Amount associated with each Apportion Year.

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
