I am currently using MySQL 3.23 for a live web site. I have new
queries that need UNION provided in v4.0.0+. It's a simple db with 5
tables and doesn't perform any e-commerce type transactions. All of
the 7 tables are of type MyISAM. So I have to upgrade MySQL on the
live server.
Q: Do I install to 4.0.12, or 4.1, or 5.x ? Because the application
is simple - is version 5 safe? My guess is that the core of the
server engine would...

Hi
Can I expect newly upgraded MySQL 4.0.1x engine to
read my old version 3.x tables without trouble, so I can
optimize them after I have installed the the new engine.
I am using MyISAM tables in both systems.
thanks

I wanted to spiff up my overly spartan homepage, and started using some CSS
templates I found on a couple of weblogs. It looks fine in my browser (IE
6.0), but it doesn't print right. I tested the blogs, and one definitely
didn't print right.
Surveying the web, my impression is that CSS is very unreliable, because
even updated browsers fail to implement the standards correctly.
So should one just avoid CSS? Or is it OK if used...

We've fooled around with Access a bit, but only using the
single-user store-bought version. It seems to be a good
database - versatile and infinitely programmable - and
can apparently be used as a front end to SQL server if
we ever needed to go that route.
But - is there a client/server version of Access ? Looking
on the CDW site there is a bewildering variety of packages
and licences and such, but we can't figure out just which
do...

Greetings,
I´m back here to show the new version of the drag & drop table columns (original script ). I´ve found some issues with the old script, specially when trying to use 2 tables with drag&drop on the same page (which was not possible). Now i´ve a new concept of the script, more object oriented.
I´ve also commented the whole code so you guys can easier understand it engine.
What exactly we need when trying to make a column drag &...

Hi folks,
I've come across a couple of the oddest behaviors that I have ever seen and wondered if anyone else has had anything similar, and if so, whether you have any suggestions for me. I warn and apologize to any brave souls that the following description will be long -- it has to be -- but if you feel brave enough to read it, I will thank you.
Both of the phenomena seem to involve version dependencies. I had been using XP with Office...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
