Hello!
if you are interested in Linux easy install of Apache,PHP,MySQL,
SQLite it might be worth to have a look at Collegelinux:
"CollegeLinux 2.5 (http://linux.college.ch ) codenamed "Obi Wan", is
an easy to use Linux distribution based on Slackware.
Obiwan comes ready for php development and is the only linux
distribution so far to do this.

an embedded database server. I have tentatively chosen mySQL 4.0 due to
the apparent
ease of embedding, along with it having all the necessary database

I've installed the last stable MySQL version (4.0.14-standard) under
Linux, (Suse-8.0) kernel 2.4.28-64GB SMP, form the binary distribution
that i downloaded from www.mysql.com. I'm interested on implementing the
embedded server within my clients programs but the distribution do not
have included the libmysqld.a library. There is a possible solution to
this without having to get the source and compile it.

Hi Team:
I've found a bug in the example presented in the Official MySQL
Manual in the section 9.1.15.6 A Simple Embedded Server Example. I tried
to compile the program following the instructions depicted in the manual
and a compiling error arose. The error was:
gcc -g -W -Wall -I/usr/local/mysql/include -D_THREAD_SAFE
-D_REENTRANT -c -o test_libmysqld.o test_libmysqld.c

Hello:
I have a thin C++ database access library that can be used
with MySQL *only* through MyODBC. I would like to use this
database access library with embedded mySQL server.
Would that be possible ? I guess a more specific question
would be: Is it possible to use the embedded mySQL server
via MyODBC ?
I am using Windows XP.

differences between PostgreSQL and those high-price commercial database (and
some are bloated such as Oracle) from software giant such as Microsoft SQL
Server, Oracle, and Sybase?
Is PostgreSQL reliable enough to be used for high-end commercial

I've used phpinfo() to confirm settings for mySQL on our host server,
and it's not returning accurate info.
phpinfo() returns a mySQL client API version of 3.23.54 (uselss for
me), where as a SELECT VERSION() query on the mySQL database returns
version 5.0.27 (exactly what we need). I think there's something wrong
with the mySQL library in PHP.
Is there any more thurough method of seeing php's settings for mySQL?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
