Searching Chinese simplified characters

6 New Member
Hello, everyone. I would like to ask something about searching Chinese simplified characters from the database. Every time I searched, it won't display data, but if I searched without a condition it displayed all data including Chinese simplified characters.

Can anyone help me for this problem? Does anyone have any ideas for this?

Kind regards,

Heya, Aprile.

Your MySQL server is probably not set up properly.

Read over this section of the MySQL manual.

Hi, I've got an english site designed that I need to translate into Chinese. I've got the Chinese wording to work with but I can't figure out how to get it into my code. I thought I could simply paste the chinese characters from a Word document into my html editor between <P> tags using the PMingLiU or SimSun font but it just enters like this:

Hi, Probably due to my 'Language for non-Unicode Setting' in Regional Settings, my ASP page keeps outputing the date format as Chinese Simplified characters when issuing say, <%=Now()%>. In addition, my client script also interpret it as Chinese characters, which I don't want it to behave this way. However, I can't remove my 'Chinese (PRC)' settings in control panel as I need it for other Chinese version software. Does anyone knows how...

I have a 3 layer system, SQL Server 2000 database, COM+ dll's (VC++ 6) and ASP frontend, this system has been in production for quite some time using english, spanish and portuguese versions. Now I've been asked to test the system to function with Simplified chinese. The development of the system was outsourced and we don't have communication with the company (some sort of legal problems i think). Now, I've been reviewing the code and...

I've an XML file in UTF-8. It contains some chinese characters ( both simplified chinese and traditional chinese). In loading the XML file with MSXML parser, I used the below code to retrieve the data in a node. The CString was then display in CListCtrl. For the traditional chinese characters, they were shown correctly, but for simplified characters, I encounted many "?", but some characters were correct.

Hello peeps, I am using PHP 5.2.2 together with MP3_Id (a PEAR module for reading and writing MP3 tags). I have been using PHP on the command line (Mac OS X Unix shell, to be precise), and am getting on more or less OK. So far, I have managed to parse my tab-delimited .txt file properly into an array, and then use this array to update the tags on a bunch of MP3 audio files. Nice.

Hi, I'm trying to use os.listdir() to list directories with simplified chinese filenames. However, while I can see the filenames correctly in windows explorer, I am getting ? in the filename strings returned by os.listdir() for some chinese characters. What should I do to make os.listdir return what I see in Windows Explorer (i.e. the full simplified chinese filename)? I am confused because os.listdir() is supposed to have unicode...

Hi I am using c# and MS SQL (express) I have a simple web form where a user puts in their name and address and it updates straight to the SQL server. It also sends an email to let me know it's been updated, and the email contains the same information. This works very well. The problem I have is if some one types anything in Chinese (traditional or simplified)! The email I get is fine and displays Enligsh and Chinese, but it won't...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
