Has anybody seen this tool? It is awesome. check out
http://vw.vermeer.org/ . It's a php front end for large-scale syslog
deployments. It makes managing syslog in large networks a snap.
The idea is to fifo pipe network syslog into a MySQL database backend.
The php scripts reference the database, and print stuff to the screen.
My Info -> RH9.0 , MySQL 4.0.14, apache1.3.28
I have successfully gotten everything installed, compiled, etc....

Hi. I have a successful compile with no complaints of dso php with
mysql that is getting the message, mysql_close not resolved in
libmysqlclient.so on apache start after install in libexec.
There is a suggestion in the online php docs to add something to
ld.so.conf, but we're on Tru64, don't have that option. There's also a
suggestion to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH, and I've done that at both compile
time and apache restart time with no...

Hi everyone,
I am currently trying to write a report based on a View of SQL Server.
Basically, I have 3 tables : Hardware, SoftwareInstalled and Software
with SoftwareInstalled that keeps track of all the software installed
on each piece of hardware by referencing the primary keys of each
table.
So now, I have a request that retrieve information from those 3 tables
giving a list of all the hardware with their details + the software...

Hi,
I wanted to run a program that is written in PyQt on my mac, and went
over to Riverbank to get PyQ 3.13 and SIP 4.1.1 sources.
I followed the installation guide except for the compiling python as
Macosx already has python.
I had no problem with compiling SIP and also no problem with compiling
PyQt nor did I have any error message during make install.

I would like to install the .Net 1.1 framework on a Web Server running W2K
to be able to run ASP.NET files, but I'm not sure where to find the files I
need for the .Net framework.
I have ".NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1" (NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe) and
"ASP.NET Security Update for .NET Framework 1.1 SP1"
(NDP1.1sp1-KB886903-X86.exe).
The SP1 will not install unless 1.1 is already installed (I thought that SP1
was the whole 1.1...

1) Is there a free runtime version of Access available that is more recent
than the one for Access 2000?
2) If I create an application (MDE) in A2K, will it run on all later
versions of Access?
3) If I create a CD using A2K Developer that includes the runtime version of
Access 2K and an installation package, and if someone tries to install the
application from the CD, what happens if someone already has Access 2000 or
a later version...

Hello ppl:
I am facing a problem that I ahve never experienced before with the
secured database. I created an MS Access 2000 application (.mdb) using
MS Access 2002 and secured it using exactly the procedure described in
the Access Security FAQ and as I have been doing since the time I
have started using Access.
So let the access application be xxx.mdb. After completing the whole
development for xxx.mdb, i secured it using the procedure...

I'm writing a web app that needs a login page. I'm doing the dev on a
windows box although the final version will go on a Linux box. I can't
find any versions of mod_auth_Mysql precompiled for windows and have no
idea about compiling c.source on windows (or anything to do it with).
Is there a good reason I shouldn't store hashed password in MySQL and
call them from Python scripts instead of using the apache auth module
directly?

Hi,
I've set up mod_auth_mysql to authenticate users to a mysql database.
However, I would like to pass the credentials passed to the
auth_mod_mysql module on to a php script. Is this possible?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
