Extracting Info from Ekahau's Positioning Engine Database

3 New Member
Hello,

I am using Ekhau Location Tracking System for an assignment. It is a system that is able to track configured tags attached to people or objects. I am new to the Ekahau Location Tracking System, but I have quite a good idea how it works.

I have an assignment to develop a real application using the Ekahau Positioning Engine (The Engine is a software based real-time location system). The Location Tracking Model of the area to be tracked is calibrated and already imported to the Positioning Engine's Database. Tags deployed can be tracked on the Engine, although there are some accuracy issues.

But the problem lies in the next phase of the assignment.
For the next phase of my assignment, I have to develop a real application using the Location Tracking System, and I will have to include some "intelligen ce" in the Tracking System. For example, a tag entering a restricted zone will alert the Positioning Engine, or maybe navigating a current user to its destination on the floorplan.

Therefore, I will have to make use of Ekahau's API to develop some kind of useful application. But the API is not here, and will not reach in time for me to complete my assignment.

So I was wondering is there any other programs/software that is able to extract information from the Positioning Engine's Database, and use that information to develop an application? (What I mean is how the Engine extracts information from its database to find out the ie. name and location of the deployed tag, and use that information to develop an application)

I heard that the Engine uses MySql to retrieve information from its database. Is it possible to use MySql and a programming languague ie.php, java,c,x ml to develop an application?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi, and welcome to TSDN!

I'm not familiar with that system, but if it uses MySQL and you have the propper connection information, you should be able to connect to it and fetch data from it.

You will need to know the database design, and how to build queries that will get the data you need.

Ah, I hope it's okay to keep posting questions, and sorry for the vague subject line. This is my problem: I've got a database set up with 7 fields: ID, Album, Year, Type, Songs, Members, Production. I've built a dynamic table that list Album, Year and Type, and when you click on Album, the other info is supposed to appear to the left. Well, it does, for the first entry, but not for subsequent entries. Here's the code from the top of the...

Dear all, Are there any utility that can be call by python to create self extracting zip file. I'm now using the powerarchiever. But the command line options aren't flexible enough. Basically, I would like to create a self extracting zip with default file path extraction and force over-write. The powerArchiever just don't let me call it unless I'm using the GUI. Any idea, experience and suggestion are welcome. Thank you. -Calvin

I have a pg with lots of divs, one of them is a gray bar about 150px down from the top and 20px from the left... this bar (an image) is 767px wide and 1px high.. however, even though all divs are positioned consistently in IE and Netscape, in Netscape (7.1) the bar div ONLY is about 10px ABOVE where it should be.. code: HTML: <div id="bar"> <img src="images/bar.gif" width="768" height="1" border="0"> </div>

I'm not sure how I need to proceed on this and can use a bit of advice. I have a non-profit's web site that wishes to allow their members to fill out information regarding summer camp information (name, contact info, mailing info, physician's name, etc) online and submit it. I can handle taking the info with PHP and putting it into a mySQL database easily. But what has me stuck is that they want the ability to print out hard copies of...

Hello everyone, This is my first attempt at getting help in this manner. Please forgive me if this is an inappropriate request. I suddenly find myself in urgent need of instruction on how to communicate with a MySQL database table on a web server, from inside of my company's Access-VBA application. I know VBA pretty well but have never before needed to do this HTTP/XML/MySQL type functions.

Let's suppose I have some nodes in an XML file, with an URL attribute: <node url="mypage.php?name1=value1&foo=bar&foo2=bar2&name2=value0" /> <node url="myotherpage.php?name4=value4&foo=bar3&foo2=bar5&name2=value8" /> and so on. Let's suppose I want to retrieve this @url parameter, BUT ONLY with the values, in querystring, associated with "foo" and "foo2" (thus discarding name1, name2, name4 and every other different ones).

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
