I would like to use php to query a database and retrieve a unix timestamp.
The problem is that mysql is storing the data in the date format and not
a timestamp.
I am sure that I can amend my query to format the date returned as a
timestamp without having to do the conversion in php.
Can someone tell me what to put in my db query?

I am trying to create a data base for colleting date for my research
project. I have run in to a couple of problems and I need it fast ASAP I
need it to be able to add data and edit them and view the data form a public
site. I have not use mysql and php since 2003 I have created the date base
with 2 tables 1 for a Jump Menu and on for the content. The contents is in

Hello,
In my MySQL database, one of the fields eople have to fill in is "DOB"
(Date of Birth).
I have now managed to begin inserting data into my DB via a form, the
data type for the DOB field is "DATE", but every time I add data and
then check my db, I see the DOB displayed as "0000-00-00".
Has anyone got any idea how I could put this right?

I have an UPDATE query that is always setting 0 records. When I cut and
paste the SQL into Access and use it, it fails in the same way unless I
coerce the date fields to be '=now()', in which case it works. I never get
errors, and if I don't try to update the date fields, I always update the
expected number of rows (1). When I do date conversion using the same
conversion function, then call CRowset::Add() to add a record to the same

I have a date field on a HTML form where the user is asked to key in
dd/mm/yyyy
However, when that is written to MySql it is either not accepted or
another value is tored in the database.
Is there any way to change value of this field back to yyyymmdd format
as accepted correctly in sql. ? The change should preferably be when
user click on submit.
