I have noticed that Visual Studios .NET has a debug mode
for SQL statements, but I can't seem to get it to work
with MS SQL Server. I can't seem to pull up my stored
procedures from the Server Explorer to set breakpoints.
Does anyone know if this can be done? I can open my
stored procedures from an MS Access project... it seems
odd to me that I have greater debugging tools in Access
than in VS.
Thanks,

Hi all,
I have a C# web application which calls a number of stored procedures.
I wish to step into the stored procedures while debugging i.e "Mix-mode
debugging":
I have completed the following steps:
Configured DCOM
Connected to database via Server Manager (I can see the SQL server and the
stored procedure)

I am trying to debug stored procedures via VS.NET. I've set up the debugging components and made the necessary configurations (security, DCOM, etc.). I was able to start successfully debugging stored procs. It worked for a few hours, then, after VS.NET crashed (trying to do a search/replace in the stored proc), after restarting, I started getting an error message as follows, when I try to step into the stored proc:
"An old version of SQL...

Hello,
I am doing a lot of work with stored procedures at work now and am wondering
if there is a way that I can step through the code line by line and set
breakpoints on it like I do in VB/VBA to test variables/parameters.
Regards,

I've spent the last couple of hours trying to figure out how to debug a Java
stored procedure and am just going in circles. The last straw came when I
got "Cannot open input stream for default" when I launched the IBM
Distributed Debugger via
D:\IBMDebug>idebug.exe -qdaemon -quiport=8000,8001
First, a bit of background.
I am running DB2 V7.2 with Fixpack 9 applied on Windows XP Professional (all
critical service applied). I've written...

values of my dynamic constructs.
set v_sql ='SELECT COUNT(*) FROM DB2ADMIN. ' || v_table_name;
How do I see value of v_sql during run time?

I have been through several examples of debugging stored procedures with
VS.NET, the most recent being in Chap 12 of Mike Gunderloy's certification
book. I have never found one that works.
After enabling SQL Server debugging in the project properties, a step-into
doesn't step into.
What is the secret?
Thanks,
Tina

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
