Hello,
The aspfaq.com seems to really push stored procedures, and I hear the
same advice here all the time. So I want to take the advice.
Is it possible to create and practically maintain, delete, use, etc..
stored procedures soley from asp (i.e., no GUI or console- like being
hosted on Brinkster)?
The tutorial on aspfaq.com mentions that stored procedures can be

Hello,
I'm currently working on debugging a very large DTS package that was
created by someone else for the purpose of importing data into my
company's database. The data is mainly user/contact-related data for
our customer base.
We ran into problems when one import, of about 40,000 rows, took
upwards of six hours to complete. Many of the stored procedures used
by this package were written using XML. I've re-written many of them

I've spent the last couple of hours trying to figure out how to debug a Java
stored procedure and am just going in circles. The last straw came when I
got "Cannot open input stream for default" when I launched the IBM
Distributed Debugger via
D:\IBMDebug>idebug.exe -qdaemon -quiport=8000,8001
First, a bit of background.
I am running DB2 V7.2 with Fixpack 9 applied on Windows XP Professional (all
critical service applied). I've written...

This is a very simple DB2 SQLJ stored procedure. The problem is that it
seems to run fine but returns NOTHING. I mean..as if nothing has
happened..not resultset is returned. I am passing value 'D11' to :workdept
and I have checked in the table that 6 rows should have returned. Any
ideas why no resultset is being returned.
import java.sql.*;
import sqlj.runtime.*;
import sqlj.runtime.ref.*;
import java.io.*; // Input/Output classes

This question relates to DB2 Version 6 on OS/390.
Can a (COBOL) stored procedure on this platform do file I/O, i.e. write to a
sequential file?
I am trying to debug a stored procedure. As far as I know, DB2 stored
procedures cannot do terminal I/O on any operating system but I know that
(Java) stored procedures in Windows/Linux/Unix can write to files and I have
done this many times.

Hello folks,
Previously I have debugged stored procedures with VS.NET 2002 on Windows
2000 successfully. I know that in order to debug a stored procedure, I need
to enable SQLServer debugging for my solution and the option for this is
located via Solution-Properties - Configuration properties - Debugging.
Recently I am working on a Windows 2003 machine that has VS.net 2003
enterprise architect edition installed, and I am not being able...

I have been through several examples of debugging stored procedures with
VS.NET, the most recent being in Chap 12 of Mike Gunderloy's certification
book. I have never found one that works.
After enabling SQL Server debugging in the project properties, a step-into
doesn't step into.
What is the secret?
Thanks,
Tina

Running DB2 v7 UDB ("DB2 v7.1.0.93", "n031208" and "WR21333") on Windows XP,
I am unable to find out why the "Build for Debug" option within Stored
Procedure Builder is not enabled on Java stored procedures. It is enabled
for SQL stored procedures.
It is possible to "Build" and "Run" the Java SPs, it just isn't possible to
click on the "Build for Debug" option. Thanks for any help in advance.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
