When I submit a query containing a UTF-8 representation (hex
value 0xC48D) of the Unicode character č (lowercase c with
caron) to the MySQL server using mysql_query, sniffing the
network traffic reveals that the character is sent as 0xC43F,
which is not a valid UTF-8 character.
Some other Unicode characters are also problematic, including
Đ and Á, but they are both sent as 0xC33F.
The MySQL table has been created...

I have a table with ~2.2 million rows. Sometimes when I do an update
to one single row it will instead update ALL of the rows using the
same update. This happens every one in about 500,000 updates to a
single row.
I am running mysql 4.0.14 in WinXP. I am using PHP to do the update.
I am thinking something in the update itself is causing mysql to do
this. I don't have the exact SQL statement that causes the error
but I do have...

Hi
According to the official mysql manual:
http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/Charset-SHOW-CHARSET.html
The syntax to show all available character sets is the SHOW CHARACTER
SET command. It takes an optional LIKE clause that indicates which
character set names to match.

Hi
Im very new to mysql - My experience of MySQL revealed some issues
with languages like Czech, Hungarian, Finnish and Polish. There was
also a question as to whether it could support Chinese.
We run version 4.0.15 of MySQL (the very latest production version is
4.0.16).
I would like to know:

Deear all experts,
In the MySQL, we can use escape character '\' to save the STRING WITH
single quote into database (eg. we would like to insert into table
"tbl_ABC"with the string ab'c, we can use the following SQL query to insert
into database : Insert into tbl_ABC VALUES ('ab\'c'); ). Also there is some
functions in mySQL api so that we can save the single quote into MySql
database using C programme. But it seems that i cannot do...

Greetings:
Is there a way to do <snip>SELECT table.* AS alias.*</snip>, or do I
have to write additional code to automate the process?

All,
Any valuable idea about subj: "The '%' character, hexadecimal value 0x25" ?
I tried to google, but nothing interesting was found.
Is it IIS settings problem, user side problem or whatever? We receive it
regularly and I guess the problem is not in our source codes. Please help!
Just D.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
