Trying to start mysqld for the first time after a reinstall on Mac OS X
gives me this error:
030709 12:53:26 mysqld started
030709 12:53:27 InnoDB: Operating system error number 13 in a file
operation.
InnoDB: See http://www.innodb.com/ibman.html for installation help.
InnoDB: The error means mysqld does not have the access rights to
InnoDB: the directory.
InnoDB: File name ./ibdata1

Dear Sirs,
I can not start MySQL server.
More specifically, MySQL was running fine all the time since
installation. It stopped working after I used FmPro Migrator to convert
some File Maker databases to MySQL
It looks like mysqld has no access permissions to InnoDB and I do not
know how to fix it.

Hi all,
Hoping someone can help us with this strange Innodb problem. At about
5:15 AM 2/2/04 (this morning), our slave server stopped accepting
connections. The machine was pingable, but you could not SSH into the
machine.
We had to manually reboot the machine, and restart the slave. Looking
in the error file we found this:

Hello all. I'm trying to get mysql installed on OpenBSD 3.4.
Unfortunately, it appeares that the port only installes the
mysql-client, and one needs to install the -server package seperately.
This would be fine with one exception, there is a dependency that
breaks when installing from ports. This lead me to install from
source, and now I'm having problems just getting mysql to start.

I'm using Mysql Max-4.1.4-gamma for Linux.
I have a question related to a problem with my database server.
If on my db server I have 2 different database, say DB1 & DB2, I
create two INNODB tables with the same name (foo), one for each
database, how they are stored in the innodb data dictionary ?
DB1.foo & DB2.foo or simply foo ?

I have a MySQL-server running Innodb. We have installed ~ 2GB of
memory in the server. In spite of this MySQL keeps crashing due to
out-of-memory errors. The server is a dual xeon i686 running kernel
Linux 2.4.20-8smp redhat stock.
Top shows mysql steadily consuming more resourses over a period of 2
hours, up to 1.2 Gb, before it crashes.
Any clues?

I have a database with about 20 or so tables, maybe a few thousand rows
in each. I am starting to do more complex things with my insertions etc,
and I want to start to use transactions, so I imagine I should change
some table types in the database from MyISAM to InnoDB.
I know that InnoDB tables are a completely different beast than MyISAM in
