"for xml" - how can I do the same with mysql?

Hello everybody,

I have just installed mysql to evaluate it, I have an application based
on mssql which extensively use the "for xml" clause to retrieve data from
the db as xml well formed document (actually "for xml explicit").
How can I do the same thing with mysql? I understood there's no native
support for retrieving data as xml document, but there is any add-on,
plugin, library... Anything which is very very fast (I intend to use it in
very intense environment, where performance are crucial), and I can relay to
smoothly switch from mssql to mysql?
By the way the application is written in c#.

Thanks,
Max

The mysql and mysqldump tools have options for producing XML output, but
that does not comprise a programming interface.

There's also MyXML, which is a GPL'd library of UDFs that you can use in
your SELECT queries to return data in XML format.

I found this in the MySQL.com partner directory.

Other than that, you could search for a solution for formatting an ODBC
or ADO result set in XML. You should be able to query MySQL using ODBC
or ADO from your C# code.

Hi everybody, I am a XSLT beginner and the following problem really makes me crazy ! I have a main "contacts.xml" document which contains references to several contact data XML files. My aim is to process the contacts in a single-pass XSLT process. That is why the "document()" function is what I need. I call the "document()" XPath function from a "for-each" instruction.

I have an application that uses the Google Maps API to display customized maps via a generated XML file. The XML is generated via a "Wizard" system to determine what the XML holds. I am looking for a way to keep the XML file "persistent" across the pages via Javascript. The way the Maps API works is that the Client feeds the items to be mapped to google, which generates the maps. Storing the XML file on the server would mean I would have...

I'm not sure if this has been addressed in more recent developments, but I'm reading the MathML specification which states "For example, it is not possible in XML to specify that the first child be interpreted one way, and the second in another." Is there a compelling reason that XML does not support that capability? Has it been fixed? I recall attempting to create my own schemas a couple years ago, and finding this limitation. For my...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
