Doubt may be bit trivial , but i wanted to know , what are the exact
benefits derived while we run a background process as an NT service in
windows , we can as well achieve the functionality using standalone exe
, which will keep on running in a loop and do the job till been messaged
to stop .
Essentially , i want the key advantages of implementing process daemons
as an NT Service in windows .

How do a windows-service detect whether a user is logged or not on a computer?
So far i've found nothing in the windows api or any code examples that will allow me to figure this out.
The solution i have today is to use Diagnostics.Process.GetProcesses and then iterate through the array i get and look for
explorer.exe
Explorer.exe is not loaded when a user is logged out of a computer.

Hi ,
I am trying to debug a problem with a Windows Mobile Application.
I need the PDA to Sync(I have writen the sync process myself using a web
service) using GPRS while Debugging from the VS IDE.
My question is: How can this be done?
Is there some settings i need on the PDA. Could some one point me in the

i'm a new user of java and require to do the following tasks using java
1.connect a GPRS modem to a PC.
2. send a message over GPRS to another GPRS device (could be a GPRS modem connected similarly to another PC)

I am working on PDA application which calls web service that fetches 40 customer details in one call. The call from PDA over GPRS takes between 4-6 minutes to fetch the data.
4 out of 5 calls fail. In the event log I can see that the SP has executed successfully but still on PDA it throws web exception.
