Most Windows Mobile developers use either Visual Studio 2005 or Embedded Visual C++ depending on what version. You can get Visual Studio express editions from Microsoft's site.

Microsoft provides an entire SDK for mobile development if you are developing for Windows Mobile devices. I'm sure that there is an SDK for other OSs too, like symbian and palm. Microsoft's SDKs are free to download, others might not be.

How to apply a numeric format to a textbox using xhtml? I know you have to use the "-wap-input-format" style tag in css. I can get this to work in a regular xhtml page, however, I've been unsuccessful in getting it to work in asp.net 1.1 The following code has allowCustomAttributes set and works fine for labels, but not for textboxes. This is because it is building span tags around the control. I need to embed the class tag inside the...

Not much expertise on XSLT and trying to understand it's uses when creating apps in VS.NET? If I wanted flexibility on the UI (View aspect of M.V.C.): - How does it compare with creating business components that can be consumed by WebForms, WinForms, mobile devices, etc? Is it even fair to compare the such technologies? - How about for cases when you need to display dynamic elements on the form/grid (as compared to knowing data elements...

I am writing a mobile application to interface with a legacy system and I am planning to use web services to communicate with this system. The legacy system receives data through a serial port. What I would like to do is make the serial port accessible via a web service. The web service and the legacy application would be running on the same machine. The mobile application would access the web service via a network connection. It...

Guys, I am hopping mad. I am just a hobby programmer making little .net applications for pretty much no-one else but me to use. One application I have written would, to my mind, work best on a handheld PC. Fortunately I have a Pocket PC - an HP jornada bought 4 years ago. Doing my

I'm a Delphi programmer with a need to create a Pocket PC app. Since full support for the .NET Compact Framework won't be added to Delphi for another year, I'm looking at learning VB. Apparently I can get that in Visual Studio 2005 Standard via a competitive upgrade for under $200, is that correct? I went ahead and downloaded the free VB 2005 Express version (even though it won't create Pocket PC apps) just to get a feel for it. If I...

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
