After you build your project you right click and select deploy. If you have a target selected it should download and launch the application on your target.

Hello, I am not sure what to look at next on this issue so any information and/or links to web sites would be greatly appreciated. I have developed an ASP.NET application using VB.NET. I tested and debugged it successfully on my PC using IIS. Once I was ready to deploy the application, I created a staging virtual directory on my D: drive and used the Copy Project menu selection (Project - Copy Project) to copy only files needed to...

Hello The application I'm building an installer for uses dlls which were developed originally in C. Since the application itself is developed in C#, these dlls were wrapped using SWIG. Initially, the machine environment variables were set to enable code development; however, I am facing problem deploying the application. To work with these wrapped libraries, the application seems to access a specific dll, for instance, let's say the C...

I'm working on a VB 05 project. I need to copy the project from my home's development machine to the PC at work so I can work in both places. I was able to do this with VS2003 but always got error "... appname.vbproj application not installed!" with 05' projects. I have VS05 installed in both machines. Thanks Bill

Hi, I create my Webservice in 2003 VS and test in Windows 2000 and Windows XP Pro without any problem. When I deploy it over Windows 2003 server, It fails to connect to the WS. I got Anonymous access check, and integerated Windows authentication check. My client, WinCE 4.2 device, still cannot access the web service. I got a WebException return to WinCE. The same setting is always work in Windows 2000/XP Pro.

My project is getting a bit large, and I would like to kick-start VS05 into performing the error-checking compilation at my direction, rather than waiting for it to self-start. Is there a way to do this? Thanks, Dean S

I have a VB .NET 2003 application that communicates with an Access db. I am deploying the application using the Wizard that creates an install package and it IS properly grabbing the Access db and putting it in the Program Files directory along with the application executable, no problem. The problem is this... The OleDbConnection knows of the database in an absolute location (i.e. C:\Documents and Settings\ApplicationDB\data.mdb

Whenever I am debugging a (desktop) application the Visual Studio 2005 IDE "locks" the design mode of any HTML files that I have open, even if they are not in the solution being debugged and are completely unrelated. By "lock" I mean that the Design tab of the HTML page displays as "Design (locked)". How can I prevent this? I want to use VS05 as an editor to take notes in HTML format while debugging but this issue forces me to have 2...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
