I'd like to write to a log whenever a visitor to my site downloads a file. So, I'd like the link they click to be to a php 'page' that returns the file. Don't know how to do that! Side Question ... Presumably, the dialog that you see when you download a binary (asking for a 'Save As...' file name) is put up by your browser when it 'sees' non-text data coming back as a response? So, how would you download a text file - and cause...

Hi I've written an HTML page that has a link to an MPG file, to be burned onto a "Demo CD". The MPG file is quite big - 500MB. On my computer, it works fine - clicking the link opens up Windows Media Player, which starts showing the video. But on another computer, the link opens up a new browser page, and shows the video as an embedded QuickTime video. The problem is (I think this might be QuickTime's fault) that it takes about 5...

I have a page on a website with two downloadable files: an install, and an update. I need to know which link (install or update) the user clicks on so that two pages later, after reading a license agreement, they are brought to the right file. I think what I basically need is when they click on either the install or update link, pass in a parameter/variable that can be used a few pages later that will allow that page to know which file to...

I am able to download this page (enclosed code), but I then want to download a pdf file that I can view in a regular browser by clicking on the "view" link. I don't know how to automate this next part of my script. It seems like it uses Javascript. The line in the page source says href="javascript:openimagewin('JCCOGetImage.jsp? refnum=DN2007036179');" tabindex=-1> So, in summary, when I download this page, for each record, I would...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
