Problems installing kubuntu

Hi, I'm trying to install linux kubuntu on my pc, but wel booting from the cd, after having choosen to start kubuntu, the only thing I get is approxiomately 30 errors like this one (only thing that changes are the numbers at the beginning):
[258.120678] Buffer I/O error on device fd0, logical block 0.
What's wrong and is it still possible for me to install kubuntu? I'm using Kubunto 7.04 64-bit, and my system is fully 64-bit compatible.

In my pc there is Intel Cote 2 Duo E6750, and the back of the cdcase (well it's not actually a case, it's just some cardboard around it, but I don't know the word) states: This 64-bit PC edition will run on AMD64 or EMT64T based computers (e.g. Athlon 64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2).

+ I have some problems with QT. I know that it is supposed to be useful for compiling cross-platform versions of a program, and that it has something to do with C++ ...not a problem so far. But - if QT compilies a program for Linux (my interest)... why do I have to install QT (again) to use it ? It seems it hasn't compiled -FOR- Linux at all, but is only using the Linux framework to run itself on_ acting more like a virus than a...

I have a self-burned live-cd of Kubuntu (7.10, 64-bit), But when I try to start, I only get as far as the bootscreen ("start/install kubuntu", "check cd for errors" and some other options). When I choose the start/install option, my screen states "no input", and then there's nothing but the sound of my fans. What could be wrong?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
