Hi,
I have a java socket program running on AIX 4.3.3.0 platform. It
opens a socket and sends data to our customer over a leased fractional
T1 line. The line is always connected. However, periodically, I see
"java.IO.Exception: There is no process to read data written to a
pipe" error message in my log file. Can anybody tell me in what cases
this error message could occur?
The other strange thing is that our customer would report...

Hello all,
I've installed the new Win32 version of 8.0-beta1, running as a
service. When I connect to it using pgAdmin III and attempt to list
databases, I get an error: 'Column "datpath" does not exist.' I got
the same error reported when starting postmaster from the command
line using pg_ctl.
It's not causing me any real problems, apart from having to use psql
rather than pgAdmin for administration.

Im trying to connect locally to a database on a running postgres
cluster. If i connect with psql, everything is fine and i can transact.
I i try and connect in my own app, i get this error:
Could not connect to server: permission denied.
Is the server running locally and accepting
connections on Unix domain socket "/tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432"
I know for a fact postgres is running, i can see with <ps> and also
<top> in the terminal on Mac OSX...

I was just curious if anyone knew how to connect a ms access database
up to a unix jbase system and extract data out of it into access. I've
only done this before by linking up my access to a Sql database and
getting live data out of it into my access. That was at a previous job
and now I would like to sink up to the JBase system that is supposedly
