Connecting MS Access to Unix Jbase system

I was just curious if anyone knew how to connect a ms access database
up to a unix jbase system and extract data out of it into access. I've
only done this before by linking up my access to a Sql database and
getting live data out of it into my access. That was at a previous job
and now I would like to sink up to the JBase system that is supposedly
ODBC compliant and get the live data out of it. If anyone could direct
me on how the first steps I would need to take... thanks

Hi, I have a website in a Linux/Apache shared hosting environment and have been given access to the MySQL server running on the same machine. To access this database from PHP, I have to call mysql_connect(host, user, password) where the password is hardcoded into my PHP source file in clear text. I see two security problems with this:

wondering what python resources might be available for python-based legacy system access, particularly to MVS, DB2 and Adabas. What additional pieces might be needed to implement this access? Python would be running on Unix and need to do Adabas and DB2 access. Screen-scraping is a common technique. Any screen scraping modules for...

Um yeah....In case you haven't figured it out, Microsoft sucks. I'm going to be kicked back in my chair eating popcorn and watching football 10 years from now, while all you clowns are scrambling to rewrite all your code because Microsoft upgraded all their crap and nothing you wrote 10 years earlier works. It doesn't take a rocket scientist...

Hi, I know that some older Unix programs that compile with GCC use socket.h to connect to and execute other programs. However, I am using Visual C++ 6.0 and it doesn't seem to have socket.h included. Is there any standard cross-platform way (ie can compile in both Visual C++ 6 and GCC) to execute and connect to other programs? Thanks,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...
