Provide me the reason for not working in IE, however working in FF ..?

Is it a generic error or specific.?

@rjonam
- IE is the technically worst browser available (ignoring standards)
- IE implements some things differently
- without the code concerned, I can say nothing

I and my friend Karl have spent literally all day trying to find out what is causing my error but we are zapped of any further functionality :) I have a form that adds news records. You select 'City' then you select 'Business Category' - now when you select 'Business Category' the next drop-down menu (business sub category) should populate with 'Business Sub-categories' related to the 'Business Category' but once 'Business Category' is...

First of all, I'm an Asian and I need to input Japanese, Korean and so on. I've tried many PHP IDEs today, but almost non of them supported Unicode (UTF-8) file. I've found that the only Unicode support IDEs are DreamWeaver 8 and Zend PHP Studio. DreamWeaver provides full support for Unicode. However, DreamWeaver is a web editor rather than a PHP IDE. It only supports basic IntelliSense (or code completion) and doesn't have anything...

I'm trying to initialize an array of error messages, so that I can print out an error message by using the 'nth string in an array, e.g. printf("%s\n", messages); I'm still hazy on arrays of pointers to strings, so you may want to finish your drinks before examining my code. Here's a small sample program. #include <stdio.h>

Hi, Does anyone here have a strong understanding for the meanings of the terms "lvalue" and "rvalue" as it pertains to C, objects, and different contexts? If so please share. I've been reading several old posts/threads on the subject, and they never end with a conclusion (people keep correcting each other and disagreeing).

Hi, I am at the end of my tether now - after spending several days trying to figure how to do this. I have finally written a simple "proof of concept" program to test serializing a structure containing pointers into a "flattened" bit stream. Here is my code (it dosen't work). I would be grateful for any feedback that helps fix this. My intention

Hello Guys and Galls, To start off, I have reached the solution I was looking for, but I would like comments and feedback on the solution I have reached and tips/tricks on making it more elegant. I am not satisfied with the underlying machinery of the solution though. I am an advanced C programmer and most do object-based programming in C++. Please do not reply to this article with references to basic material or obvious tips. An...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
