Reading an html file in a javascript variable.

Hi,

Is there anyway to read an html file into a javascript variable or
execute a script src and load that output into a variable in the
calling page?

Thanks,

Tim

For the first part, read the FAQ:

http://www.jibbering.com/faq/#FAQ4_38

For the second, I don't know what you mean. You can't "execute a script
src". Furthermore, there is no defining output from a script element. If
it modifies the document, it will do it directly.

Hello, I have a question about how PHP handles multiple file reads/ writes. I made a page containing a self-submitting form where the user can type his name, topic and a text. When he submits the form, PHP reads the .php file in a variable. It then processes it: adds the user comments to the var and writes the modified file back to disk. Next time the user opens the page (s)he sees te comments (s)he and others added. So what I have is a...

I am new to PHP. But this seems like a terrific language. I have been using JavaScript up to now but it looks like I will be changing to PHP. Seems to have more potential. I am confused about using data in a JavaScript cookie in a PHP file. The JavaScript Cookie document.cookie = "order=" + escape("website = " + website + "*" + "sale = " + sale + "*" + "name = " + name + "*" + "addr1 = " + addr1 + "*" + "addr2 =

HELP! I am determined to stick with this... I'm getting there... for those who haven't read my earlier posts, I'm createing what should be a simple function that I can call to check that required fields in a form have values. I'm writing the values to the client using document.write only so that I can confirm that the values are there to be played with - this is not the final result so please (unless it's leading to the script failure)...

Hi, i'm new to javascript. I started studing it on the web few weeks ago, but still haven't been able to solve one big problem: HOT TO PASS VALUES FROM A SCRIPT VARIABLE TO A CHILD HTML GENERATED BY FUNCTION. Here'e the point: I'm writing a simple website for showing my photographs. It has a central page with many links (as many as galleries are).

To those of you who sent me working examples of js include routines, much thanks. I see from them examples that what I'm trying to get to requires a higher level of js knowledge than I've got. Here's what I'm really trying to do: I've been using a sliding banner javascript routine in several html files and it works fine. Rather than duplicate the code in each file, however, it would obviously be preferable to including the routine in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
